What can recent Instagram follows tell you?

[dertaika]

Recent Instagram follows can sometimes provide an interesting snapshot of what an account is paying attention to at a particular moment. For example, a sudden group of follows around the same topic might indicate a new interest or project. Of course, one follow by itself probably does not tell you very much. Do you ever look at recent Instagram follows for this kind of context? What patterns do you find genuinely useful?

Honestly this has been annoying me too because Instagram used to make it way easier to understand follow activity and now the lists just look completely shuffled all the time. After getting tired of refreshing profiles over and over I found recently-followed and it’s probably the simplest thing I’ve used for checking recent follows without needing to log into your account. It saves a lot of time compared to manually comparing follow lists every day
